REGISTRATION & ABSTRACT SUBMISSION
Following completion of your online registration you will receive a confirmation e-mail including your login data for the further steps such as registration fee payment, abstract submission, and grant applications.
Please note that your registration & abstract submission is only valid after payment of any open registration fees.
* If full payment has not been received until April 9, 2024, the late fee will automatically be applied.
** After the closure of the online registration only onsite registrations are possible (an additional 100 EUR onsite handling fee will be charged)
$ Abstract submissions for the EUCARPIA satelltite workshop are separate and must be sent directly to the workshop organizer by e-mail.
A confirmation of your enrollment as student or a corresponding letter from your supervisor needs to be uploaded in PDF format during the registration process.

All prices are in Euro. ÖGMBT is exempted from tax, so no sales tax is accounted.

Payments for social events or satellites are not eligible for any refunds. Some social events and satellites will only be held if a minimum number of participants are reached. Cancelled social events and satellites will be refunded with a 5% handling fee.
All payments are made via the online registration system (login box at the right of the top navigation menu) and can be made at the end of the registration process. Please note that payment of registration fees is required before abstract submission!

Registration will only be valid upon receipt of the full payment according to the deadline indicated. A letter of invitation can only be issued upon request after the registration fee has been paid.
This meeting is selected by the Federation of European Microbiological Societies (FEMS) to offer grants for congress participation for Early Career Scientists*.
To apply for this grant, you would need to meet following requirements:
* Find out if your society is a FEMS Member at https://fems-microbiology.org/member-societies/
** These are active microbiologists who obtained the highest academic degree - Bachelor, Master or PhD - less than five years prior to the application deadline date, or are a Master or PhD student. Periods of maternity/paternity leave, special leave or illness do not count toward this definition.
To be able to apply for the grant the registration fee must first be paid in full and an abstract must be submitted. The application for a FEMS ECS Grant is available in the registration system. A maximum of up to 500 EUR will be granted to successful applicants to assist with travel and accommodation (Registration fees are not included). Successful applicants will be reimbursed after attending the meeting.
The application for a FEMS ECS Grant must submitted in the registration system until the extended date of May 5, 2024. The decision about the awarding of a grant will be communicated on April 26, 2024.

After completion of your registration you can login to the online registration system (login box at top right of the top navigation menu) with the instructions from your registration confirmation e-mail and submit an abstract for the symposium. All abstracts must be submitted using the online registration system and require payment of the registration fee before submission.
Please prepare an abstract consisting of a title (250 characters max.), up to 14 authors and an abstract body (2500 characters max.) . In the online editor you may use simple formatting elements such as bold, italic, underline, super & subscript and special characters in both the title and abstract.
Abstract Evaluation: Submitted abstracts will be considered for either poster or oral presentation (short talk or science flash) by the scientific committee and all participants will be automatically notified via e-mail on April 26 of the acceptance of their abstract and the type of presentation. The acceptance and selection status of your abstract is also available via the registration system.
Please submit your presentation on a USB-Stick in PDF or MS Office format to the technician in the lecture hall at the latest in the break 2 hours before your session. Presentations will be played from a windows presentation laptop provided by the organizers. The beamer resolution is 1920x1080 and the projection screen has 16:9 format.
Short Talks will be 12 minutes talk and 3 minutes discussion.
Science Flash Talks are a mixed format with a short oral presentation and a poster. Science flashes will be 5 minutes talk and the discussion will take place at the poster during the respective poster session.
Poster presentations: Please prepare a printed poster max. size DIN A0 (841 x 1189 mm), portrait format (upright). The number of your poster can be found in the poster table within the program book or on the scientific program page.
Each young scientist who has submitted an abstract has the chance to win one of the prizes for Best Talk or Best Poster.
From all talks and poster the chairs will nominate award winners.
